Sampling Designs and Statistical Approaches used in Forestry

Our goal is simple: Promoting knowledge among young Africans as way of giving back and we are very excited at the level of support we have been receiving from great professionals all across the world on the realisation of this vision.

We count it a very great privilege and honour this time around to successfully get the approval of a great don in the field of Forest Biometrics in person of Matt Russell as our speaker at the second edition of our mentorship program for young graduates of Forestry willing to pursue a career in the field of Forest Biometrics.

Matt Russell, a proud alumni of the University of Maine and Virginia Tech is the President and CEO of Arbor Custom Analytics a US-based firm offering data and analytics consulting services to forestry companies and organisations all over the world.

He is an author/co-author of over 80 peer-reviewed articles focusing on applied forestry research and has contributed immensely towards the growth of societies like Society of American Foresters, Forest Products Society, and the American Statistical Association – ASA.
